Black History Art Contest Results Announced

The members of the Pi Omega Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. would like to express our appreciation for
the district’s support of the 16th Annual Black History Month Art Contest. Our organization strives to serve Williamson
County through charity, education, and community service programs. Each year, we sponsor educational initiatives
like the art contest to promote creative expression, cultural awareness, and historical remembrance.
This year’s theme was African American Olympians for high school and middle school students.
The 2016 entries were exceptional. We are pleased to announce the following winners.

First Place High School – Jillane Yap / Stony Point High School
$100 cash prize

Second Place High School – Sabastian Brooks / Stony Point High School
$75 cash prize

Third Place High School – Zoe Ellzey / Stony Point High School
$50 cash prize

Honorable Mention – Kevin Salazar / Stony Point High School

Honorable Mention – Parker Shepard / Stony Point High School

First Place Middle School – Saneja Wallace / Hernandez Middle School

Second Place Middle School – Zohee Zaragoza / Hernandez Middle School

It was a pleasure working with the district on this project. Each of the listed winners will be presented cash or a
medal for their efforts at the Secondary Art Show Awards Ceremony in May 2017. Our final project for this academic year is the awarding of scholarships to deserving seniors attending Round Rock ISD high schools.

Student work will be on exhibition at Round Rock ISD Administration at 1311 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, 78681 through February 2018.
