Round Rock Symphony will welcome Joseph Alessi, principal trombonist of the New York Philharmonic, to the stage for its March 3rd concert. The program will include works by Carl Nielsen, Launy Grøndahl and Nino Rota. As part of the symphony’s ongoing commitment to music education, student musicians from the Vivace Youth Orchestra will perform side-by-side with the symphony at this concert that is co-produced with the Georgetown Symphony Society.

Nino Rota – Suite from The Godfather (side-by-side with the students of the Vivace Youth Orchestra)

This concert takes place directly after a series of cover conductor appearances at the New York Philharmonic byRound Rock Symphony’s Musical Director Stefan Sanders. Sanders, an accomplished trombonist himself, relates with enthusiasm, “We are especially excited to feature legendary trombonist, Joseph Alessi, the Principal Trombonist of the New York Philharmonic in March. Mr. Alessi is regarded the world over as the preeminent trombone soloist and pedagogue.”
