Hirt named TMEA Distinguished Administrator

Every year, the Texas Music Educators Association recognizes upper-level school administrators across the state who have been instrumental in preserving quality music education programs on their campuses and in their districts.   Ms. Kelley Hirt, Principal of Chandler Oaks Elementary was nominated by her campus music teacher Tori Blackwell and has been recognized as a Distinguished Administrator along with 20 others in 2019-2020.

A few things that Ms. Blackwell mentions about Ms. Hirt in her nomination to TMEA.  “Kelley is the most amazingly supportive principal that any music teacher could ever hope to have.  She formulates the schedule to protect our instructional time, guaranteeing that we get to see each class at least once per week; even during testing.  She does a weekly check-in with our specials’ team members each Monday morning, just to see what we might need for the upcoming week.  She not only attends and speaks at every single music program, she takes pictures and helps clean up at the end.”

Congratulations to Ms. Hirt on this much deserved recognition.
