Middle School Theatre Success at UIL District One-Act Play Contest

Congratulations to all our campus theatre programs and theatre students on their performances during the Round Rock ISD Middle School UIL One-Act Play Contest.  All 11 campuses presented amazing work on stage for Zone on Oct. 27-28, 2023 and this past weekend, November 3-4, 2023 District level competition was held.  A UIL adjudicated event, students and directors received feedback and information to grow their practice in coming productions alongside rankings, awards and review of productions presented.

The Round Rock ISD Middle School UIL One-Act Play Contest is a UIL competition where schools present a 40 minute performance and are adjudicated by three UIL Theatre Adjudicators. The contest is held is open to the public and follows all guidelines for the University Interscholastic League (UIL).  We divide our district into two zones with awards being given in each zone.  Three schools from each zone advance to District where they compete for a rank of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place for their production.  Before the awards are announced the adjudicators give an oral critique to each of the schools.  The adjudicators award individual acting awards as well as ranking each production presented.  Awards presented in each zone and district at the Contest include; Best Performer, All Star Cast, Honorable Mention All Star Cast and Outstanding Technician/All Star Crew Award.
